How To Change Your Facebook Profile Picture - I've made no secret of my distaste for Facebook's user interface, which is equal components unpleasant, complicated, and outright maddening.

For instance, expect you wish to transform your account photo. Appears like the kind of alternative you could locate in, say, Account Settings. Nope, not there. Personal privacy Settings? Nuh-uh.

Well, maybe if you click your name to open your profile, you'll locate the alternative there. Let's see ... no, there's nothing that states "change account image." Oh, here we go, I'll wager if you click Update Info ...

Another strike. Just what's that, currently, 4?

How To Change Your Facebook Profile Picture

This is yet an additional of Facebook's extremely obscure settings that's really hiding in ordinary view. (Previous wrongdoer: area sharing.) To transform your profile image, do this:

1. Open your account by clicking your name, either on the left side (listed below the Facebook logo design) or the ideal side of the toolbar up top.

2. Mouse over your current photo image, click Edit Profile Photo, then choose a choice (Select from Photos, Upload Picture, Edit Thumbnail, and so on) from the drop-down menu that appears.

That's right! All this time, the option was right there-- supplied you hovered your computer mouse in the best spot. Begin, Facebook, you can do better. (Quick note: If you occurred to mount one of the Facebook-photo-zoom tools I mentioned the other day, you could discover that the pop-up image covers the Edit Profile Image tool. Bleh.).

There is, undoubtedly, another method to go about this. If you want to transform an image that's currently in your Facebook collection into your account picture, you can-- but, again, locating the alternative can be maddening unless you understand where to look.

Find the image you desire, then click it to bring up the full-size version in its very own home window. Currently, see that tiny equipment icon in the upper-right edge? Click it, then choose Make Profile Image. Why there's not a button for this alongside Tag Picture, Add Area, and so on is beyond me.

Does this intensify you as long as it does me? Or do you assume I'm being excessively severe? In either case, share your thoughts in the comments!
